Database with cultural historic heritage

Typical rural cuisine is the result of centuries of historical processes in societies that were protagonists  of the development of human civilization in important moments. In European culture the table has become a symbol of hospitality and welcome of the family, and the food has become the language of feelings expressed. For these reasons, rural cuisine must be protected and safeguarded against attempts of counterfeiting and forgery, in order to preserve its history, culture, quality and naturalness.

The main objective of the project is through various activities to rediscover knowledge, traditions and skills related to food as a valuable element of historical and cultural heritage of the area. The study made is a starting point for the project focused on a new philosophy of local development that favors duality cuisine and culture that will serve as a basis for organizing events to rally the population and strengthen their sense of belonging to the territory of the Local Action Group and the strengthening of economic activity through the creation of networks and actions of territorial promotion.

The study includes a study of population, its cultural aspects of the local cuisine, which belongs almost exclusively to oral tradition. It also allowed the detection of ancient recipes in the context of socio-cultural background and served to analyze the link between nutrition and calendar between food and sacredness. Culinary heritage is an integral part of the local cultural heritage and is thus considered one of the possible tools for the promotion of the territory and unite the community around common goals for development.
